From the Web Mistress Scarlett Rose:
We are very excited to announce the launch of our new website for the SeaDog Nights and Gypsy Carnival event. This year, as website coordinator, I felt it my duty to the populace of the SeaDog Nation to provide more information in a more updated, efficient, attractive, modern and thorough way!
We want our event to be the best it can be, and one of the ways we can do that is to inform our populace the best way we can about how the game is played, what to expect at the event, and how to make their event the best it possibly can be. I always tell my fellow staff members and fellow pirates and gypsies that the reason why I am on staff is because I saw a place where I could help! The first time I went to SeaDogs changed my life. I had so much fun and met such wonderful people that I knew that the Pirate and Gypsy community was going to be a huge part of my life from there on out! This is my way of giving back to the nation in a way that benefits them.
New Features of the new Website:
1) We have a new pre-registration which will hopefully work more efficiently and smoothly. We are hoping that the way we have it set up will facilitate better communication between event patrons and staff so that we can better organize the placement of our ships, households, merchants and camping, and so that we can facilitate more fun activities and a better event schedule for all, so that you can just spend your time enjoying yourselves!
2) Eventing Guides:
We are collecting eventing guides submitted by members of our own community to help newcomers and event veterans alike be able to get more immersed in the experience of SeaDogs. Learn how the Dog Of The Sea Game is played, what DogPounds are and how they work, learn about Costuming, what to pack, and event how to talk like a pirate! We plan on adding more eventing guides over time, and if you want to contribute one, let us know!
3) Social Media:
SeaDog Nights now has a Pinterest page, and a Twitter page! The Pinterest page is set up to help inspire you with costume / garb ideas, camping ideas, pirate and gypsy crafts, pirate and gypsy kids activities, and whatever else we think might help you have fun at our event.
4) New and Improved Email Newsletter:
We are excited to announce that we have a new email newsletter service set up – the SeaDog Underground! Please look for the signup form in the lower righthand corner of the website’s home page. Be the first to find out about special offers, special parties, and to hear about SeaDogs related news!
Have you ever wanted a SeaDog Nights t-shirt? Or a Bumper Sticker to put on your car? Perhaps a flask with the SeaDogs logo? Or playing cards? I know I have! We are excited to open our Cafepress store this year where you can get all kinds of awesome SeaDogs merchandise to show off to all your friends.
6) SeaDog Nation Podcast
SeaDog Nation is teaming up with the Orcbelly Inn to bring you interviews, information, special offers, and listening fun in a hopefully weekly podcast! Stay tuned, we will be adding this feature to the website very soon (hopefully within the week).
7) VIP Packages
In addition to general pre-registration you can now purchase VIP Packages that offer all kinds of Goodies, plus the status of being a VIP at our event and entry into a VIP Party for Silver and Gold VIP levels.
8) Merchant Page
All merchants who pre-register will be listed on our merchant page so those going to the event can see who will be vending at the event beforehand! We think this will be useful for both our vendors and our event patrons.
Thanks everyone! Again, keep checking back as we will be adding more awesomeness all the time!
